European sovereignty in a changing geopolitical context; EU-USA relations; support to Greenland’s territorial integrity and sovereignty; anti-government protests in Iran and the harsh repression; the situation in Venezuela; the “priority” of the defence policy. These are some of the key items on the agenda of the forthcoming plenary sitting of the European Parliament, which is going to start on Monday January 19th until Thursday January 22nd, in Strasbourg. Many economic and social issues will be addressed as well. For instance, the European Parliament is going to adopt its position on the update of air passengers’ rights to ensure, among other things, there are entitled to compensation in the event of a delay of over three hours. The European Parliament might also demand a stricter enforcement of EU rules to prevent Artificial Intelligence being used to create illegal sexual content. The “crux” of “critical medicines” and potential support to innovative companies will be discussed too.
