EU: 260 million euros in subsidies to 1,249 researchers. Projects about nuclear medicine, the fight against cancer, climate and environment, gender issues

Today, the European Commission announced the results of the 2023 call for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships. With a total budget of 260 million euros, 1,249 PhD researchers “will have the opportunity to work at their projects while benefiting from training and support to improve their skills and boost their career”. Such projects will concern all scientific disciplines “and a wide range of topics, such as nuclear medicine for the fight against cancer, the adaptation to climate change, as well as the evolution of gender issues in society”. Iliana Ivanova, commissioner for innovation and research, stated: “these subsidies are vital for the researchers’ careers, as they provide exceptional opportunities for research, training and mobility to cooperate with leading scientists all over the EU and the world. We must cultivate our scientific talent to maintain our excellence in research and our competitive advantage”. This is the third call for MSCA postdoctoral fellowships under the Horizon Europe programme. The next call is expected be opened on 10th April 2024. “Relevant information for applicants – the European Commission points out – will be published in due time”.
