Over 40 media professionals from the Romanian Catholic Church will take part in the national Catholic media conference in Oradea from March 12th to 14th. The event is organised by the Social Communication Committee of the Romanian Episcopal Conference (CER), in partnership with the Greek Catholic eparchy of Oradea. The topic of the meeting, “Preserving human voices and faces”, takes inspiration from Pope Leo XIV’s message for this year’s World Day of Social Communication. The programme includes an educational section with conferences, workshops and debates, and a religious and cultural section with moments of prayer, a guided tour of the city, and a concert by the Oradea Philharmonic Orchestra. The opening of the conference will be attended by mgr. Laszlo Bocskei, president of the Romanian Episcopal Conference and Roman-Catholic Bishop of Oradea, and His Beatitude Claudiu Pop, Major Archbishop of the Romanian Greek Catholic Church and head of the Social Communication Committee at CER, as well. Guests at the educational section will include professionals from Vatican News (Romanian newsroom), EWTN, and the University of the Holy Cross (Rome). “With this event – the eparchy of Oradea stated in a message – the Romanian Episcopal Conference reiterates its commitment to supporting responsible and professional communication that is faithful to Christian values, at the service of the truth and of human dignity”.
