Netherlands: tools for Catholic communities in the pursuit of a synodal style

The Netherlands’ national workgroup on synodality has developed a number of materials that have been provided to parishes and communities to start new journeys. In particular, “A feast for all” is an introductory notebook on “spiritual conversation”, providing suggestions on how to explore the Final Document of the Synod in five meetings. These and more materials are available in the “toolbox” on the website Luisterdopweg.nl, which was created some time ago to guide the Catholic communities in their pursuit of a synodal style. A new thing is that an article a month will be posted on the website so that it can be reposted on parish magazines and bulletins. The wish, the coordinator of the national workgroup Richard Steenvoorde said, is that “parishes and communities may use such tools to test first hand that synodality is a daily lifestyle and a mission for Catholics”. A “prayer relay for the implementation of synodality in the Catholic communities” has been launched from the pages of the website, starting on Monday February 2nd and ending on the Saturday before Palm Sunday (Saturday March 28th). A special prayer of intercession has been prepared so that it may be included with the devotees’ prayers that are said at Mass. The calendar of the prayer relay is posted on the website, with the places and times that “the implementation of synodality in the Netherlands” will be prayed for.
