The “Christian School Foundation” of Catalonia begins the 2025-2026 academic year this week with 245,032 students – from nursery school to upper secondary school – in 378 state-approved Catholic schools throughout Catalonia. This is according to a statement published on the organisation’s website. The Foundation also announced that its institutes are starting the academic year with a staff of 23,057 teaching professionals, and approximately 83,000 students with disabilities or other special needs, representing 27% of the total. The Foundation also informs that during the academic year that is about to start, the “expert groups” that supervise and coordinate affiliated institutes in areas such as digital technology, mathematical sciences, quality indicators, evangelising education and holistic care of the person will be maintained and expanded. The new academic year will also feature the third edition of “Escuelas en Red” (“Schools in Network”), a pilot programme in which schools of different grades and geographical locations work together to share experiences and best practices, and to create a common learning space. It will also be the second year of activity for the “Education Ethics Committee”, which aims to provide the Foundation’s schools with support and assistance on ethical issues related to teaching
