“A thoughtful and well-informed reflection on the ethical, anthropological, economic and ecclesial models on which humanity should be founded, today and in the near future, is more urgent than ever”. “The Social Doctrine of the Church offers a series of keys to inform this reflection and face the great challenges of a constantly changing world”. This is how the Paul VI Foundation announces on its website a new edition of the University Master’s Degree in Social Doctrine of the Church. The course marks its tenth anniversary as an official higher education qualification. It is aimed primarily at social workers, third and fourth sector workers committed to human and social development, pastoral workers, teachers, graduates in humanities and social sciences, and theologians interested in moral and pastoral theology. However, as the Foundation stresses on its website, this broad and encompassing education will benefit all graduates interested in understanding and responding to social and human realities from a Christian point of view. The curriculum is structured around five main subjects divided into twelve disciplines: anthropology, human and social sciences, the social and political Magisterium of the Catholic Church, epistemology of the Social Doctrine of the Church, and pastoral care of justice and charity, besides a final thesis. The teaching methodology of the master’s degree is online. Registrations are open until 5 September.
