Spain: Missionary Work, Madrid to host training days for new directors

The Commission on Missions and Cooperation of the Spanish Episcopal Conference and the national directorate of Pontifical Missionary Works will organise a meeting of diocesan delegates for missions, PMW directors and new staff in Madrid on November 26th and 27th. As posted on the webpage of the Spanish Episcopal Conference, the meeting will be targeted to delegates for missions appointed in the last year, “so they can be fully informed about their new position”. Wednesday, November 26th, will be opened by a moment of prayer and the story of mgr. Joseba Segura, Bishop of Bilbao and President of the organising episcopal commission, and a speech from José María Calderón, national director of Pontifical Missionary Works in Spain. After that, the webpage of the Spanish Episcopal Conference goes on, a training session will be provided about subjects such as the operation of the national council for mission, the Hispanic-American priestly cooperation work, the role of diocesan priests on a mission, and the fund for new evangelisation and mission in Latin America. Then, another session will provide an insight into economic cooperation and missionary organisations. Thursday, November 27th, will be fully focussed on the organisation of Pontifical Missionary Works: the organisation charts, general secretariats, all the offices and councils, and the information services will be thoroughly described.
