Spain: Madrid, “To The Heights” taking off. A journey through Christian education, prayer and fraternity

Catholic Action Madrid is promoting “To The Heights”, a number of diocesan meetings that combine education, prayer and fraternity, with the involvement of children, young people, adults and families while respecting the different realities of life. “This cycle of meetings – as the organisers announced – aims at “strengthening the unity of the laity in the parishes and reviving Christian commitment from the heart of the Church”. The first event will take place at the San Bernardo College in Madrid on Saturday 25th October, starting at 11.00 am. The events will be held in different parishes, so as to involve the local communities as well as the members of the association. As stated by Catholic Action Madrid in a notice, the focus of “To The Heights” is Christian education, which will take place through three adapted processes: theological education (targeted to adults and people who want to learn more about the mysteries of faith, by dealing with topics such as Christology, the Trinity or the Eucharist), education about human love (for young married couples, couples and people who are in the process of being engaged, by dealing with married life, affectivity, dialogue, the spiritual dimension of love) and education about affectivity (intended for adolescents and young people to reflect on identity, emotional maturity and relationships). For the younger ones (up to 7 years old), there will be entertainers who will coordinate age-appropriate activities, while children aged 8 to 12 will attend a catechesis specifically made for them. In addition to education, “To The Heights” will include communal moments of prayer and fraternal coexistence.
