The Portuguese Episcopal Conference will be meeting in Fatima on Wednesday, June 17th, for an Extraordinary Plenary Meeting. As stated by CEP, the Portuguese Episcopal Conference, in a release, the items on the agenda will include a reflection on the “New Guidelines of the Church in Portugal as part of protection of minors and vulnerable adults and approval of the Episcopal Commissions for the three years 2026-2029 after the election of their Presidents at last April’s Plenary Assembly”. The release also states that no press conference is expected to take place at the end of the Assembly, but a few days later the Portuguese Episcopal Conference will issue a release with the Assembly’s conclusions and resolutions.
