In preparation for Pope Leo XIV’s visit to the Principality of Monaco scheduled for 28 March, Bishop Dominique-Marie David invited everyone to attend a Mass in the cathedral on Thursday 12 March (at 6.30 pm). He also asked the parishes and all the faithful to join in prayer by reciting an intercession he himself composed and which – a statement from the Diocese reads – has already been recited for several days to accompany the preparations until 27 March. The prayer gives thanks “for Pope Leo XIV’s upcoming visit”, prays for the Pontiff and also asks that “the Spirit be abundantly poured out upon our Church in Monaco”. The bishop also invited the faithful to “welcome the beauty and truth of the Gospel and proclaim it in words and deeds, with the joy of a renewed missionary zeal”, and to “be especially attentive in showing Your mercy to their suffering brothers and sisters”. The prayer ends with an invocation that through the presence of Pope Leo, his teachings and his prayer, “we may be renewed in our faith in Christ, our hope, and strengthened in our desire to follow him”.
