Artificial intelligence, music, the Youth Jubilee, and formation were some of the topics at the centre of the national meeting of youth ministry leaders organised by the Commission for Laity and Youth of the Romanian Bishops’ Conference (CER), chaired by Mgr Virgil Bercea, Greek Catholic Bishop of Oradea. The event, that took place in Baile Felix (Bihor county) from 12 to 14 November, was hosted by the Eparchy of Oradea, according to statement released by the CER today. After reviewing this year’s projects, particularly the Youth Jubilee, several new initiatives for 2026 were presented. Among the proposals were an exchange of experiences between dioceses and eparchies “to promote communion among young people at the national level”, ongoing formation meetings for those involved in youth ministry, a national pilgrimage to the Medjugorje Youth Festival, and the creation of an online information platform for young people. A Catholic chatbot used in the Archdiocese of Bucharest, Dialecta, was also presented together with the National Choir Festival during which Romanian choristers will have a chance to practise under the guidance of Mgr Marco Frisina, from the Diocese of Rome. Participants also met with Mgr Laszlo Bocskei, Roman Catholic Bishop of Oradea and President of the CER, and visited the Orionian community in Oradea. The next meeting, hosted by the Eparchy of Bucharest, will take place in the Romanian capital on 10-12 March 2026.
