“The Holy Father expresses appreciation for the priests who dedicate themselves to the delicate and ever necessary ministry of the exorcist, encouraging them to live it both as a ministry of liberation from the Evil One and as a ministry of consolation.” So reads the message that Pope Leo XIV, signed by Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, sent to the biennial conference of the International Association of Exorcists (IAE). The Pontiff calls for support of the faithful “genuinely possessed by the Evil One through prayer and the invocation of Christ’s effective presence, so that through the sacramental of exorcism the Lord may grant victory over Satan.”
