Council of Europe: poster and short film competition on digital citizenship. Call for submissions open

The international poster and short film competition on digital citizenship, promoted by the Council of Europe as part of the European Year of Digital Citizenship Education 2025, is now open for applications. The competition aims to “highlight the value of digital citizenship education in shaping the digital future, helping build inclusive and democratic societies”. In other words, artists, designers and video makers are invited to work on one of the goals of the European Year and create posters or short films. Their works should aim to “bring diverse perspectives to digital citizenship topics and raise awareness in society”. Possible topics to be investigated include disinformation, digital literacy, cyberbullying, digital etiquette, online hate speech, tolerance, personal data usage and digital security – which are all “evolving threats”. The works should thus provide different perspectives on these topics. The deadline for submitting applications (https://europeanyear2025.coe.int/poster-and-short-film-competition/) is 14 September 2025. The final selection will take place from 26 September to 10 October. The winner will be announced on 22 October. The selected works will be showcased in an exhibition on 18-19 November 2025 in Strasbourg.
