Spain: Bishops’ Conference, initiatives until June to make the Spanish Catholic Church known

The Spanish Bishops’ Conference (CEE) officially started the project called “#Iglesia12Semanas” (#Church12Weeks in English). From April to June (for 12 weeks), numerous events and initiatives are scheduled to give visibility to the life of the Spanish Catholic Church, which celebrates and proclaims the faith (Faith), evangelises (Hope) and exercises charity at the service of people (Charity). To show the Church’s action – the website of the CEE reads – means “to show the dedication of hundreds of thousands of people behind each figure that is released. Each member of the Christian community contributes, according to his or her own possibilities: some offer their time, others their prayers and others their economic contribution. Alongside them, consecrated persons give their whole lives”. At the same time – the promoters add – “behind each figure there is also the face of those who find both spiritual and material support in the Church”. Among the topics addressed is the Church’s presence in the world of education. “The Church’s contribution is visible throughout history. Today, in our country, the Church continues to make an important contribution to the education of children, young people and university students. Countless educational institutions, both public and private, provide the best education on the example of Jesus who is a concrete role model”, the website of the Spanish Bishops goes on to read. Documentation is available on the dedicated web page.
