“The meaning of life” (Zin in Leven) is a project in the Limburg region, in the Netherlands, about the early diagnosis of loneliness, depression and suicidal tendencies among young people that was started in 2017. The goal of the project is to help young people “deal with questions about meaning” and involves several organisations working with young people (associations, educational world, church organisations, including the diocese of Limburg). The project aims at training the people who work with young people to recognise situations of existential crisis. In this context, on Thursday 19th September, Melick will be hosting a conference about “positive health”, a holistic concept about people’s wellbeing, developed by Dr Machteld Huber. Guest speakers will include Johan van der Vloet, who works for the diocese of Roermond and is editor-in-chief of MagaZijn, a digital forum with news, insights and “meaningful” stories. The calendar of the conference will also include workshops to train in the support of young people.
