Slovakia: monthly conferences launched on “Young people in the Bible”

(Bratislava) – “Young people in the Bible” is the title of a series of monthly Lectio Divina meetings due to be held in St. Martin’s Cathedral in Bratislava during the academic year 2017/2018. The next event will take place on 4 October when the Archbishop of Bratislava Msgr. Stanislav Zvolensky will speak about “Ruth, a hardworking and faithful woman”. “By choosing the topic of young people in the Bible, we try to answer the invitation of the Holy Father Francis, as he announced that the following Synod of Bishops should be dedicated to young people, their life situations, their journey of faith, and their vocational discernment”, Msgr. Zvolensky explains. Indeed, he points out, the stories of young people described in the Holy Scripture can “give precious spiritual impetus to the daily life of each one of us”. The audio recordings of all Lectio Divina meetings can be found on the website of the Archdiocese of Bratislava www.abuba.sk, including the series of the past nine years when the Archbishop dedicated the Lectio Divina to the Decalogue, God’s absolute primacy, the life of St. Paul, and many other topics.
