(Brussels) “The FAFCE Board meeting will address several issues, including the latest developments on marriage and the family in the EU and at the Council of Europe. It will also focus on the Federation’s strategy for the 2015-2019 period”. Maria Hildingsson, Secretary-General of the Federation of Catholic Family Associations in Europe (FAFCE), will chair the Federation’s Board meeting in Fatima, Portugal, on 12-13 April. Such a meeting takes place twice a year: in autumn in Brussels, where the FAFCE has an office since 2009, and in spring in another country member of the Federation. “For the delegates of the 19 associations which make up the Federation, coming from 15 different EU countries, it is an opportunity for meeting and sharing”, the FAFCE told SIR: “different viewpoints, rich traditions of family and cultural policies, but a common desire to implement the teaching of the social doctrine of the Church in today’s Europe”. The meeting in Fatima will be hosted by the Fundação a Junção do Bem. Ms Hildingsson added: “All members will have an opportunity to present their activities, share the best practices, and receive an in-depth update on the papers on which the FAFCE Office in Brussels is currently working. Last but not least, there will be a reflection on Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation “Amoris Laetitia” released today”.
