(Bratislava) – “There are more and more people around us looking for a spiritual anchor. If God gives them open hearts, it is a great challenge for us to be here for them and have the courage to evangelize and testify to our faith”, says Fr. Vojtech Koukal, one of the organizers of the Conference on Evangelization due to be held on 18-20 November in Zlin, Moravia. The aim of the national event, promoted to mark the conclusion of the Year of Mercy, is “to demonstrate that every Catholic can be a witness to Jesus Christ”. Therefore, the conference is intended for all those who want to find out more about the mission of Christ’s disciples in practical situations of contemporary society. Apart from lectures on various topics associated with mercy and evangelization, the program will include a presentation of evangelizing methods, programs and activities, the sharing of experiences from Czech, Moravian and foreign dioceses, workshops and a wide offer of Christian literature. “Young people will get spiritual impulses on how to evangelize their schoolmates, and older people will have the opportunity to find out how to open the Church’s gate to other seniors. We always hear the appeals of the clergy not to be afraid to evangelize, and this conference will show us how to do it in practice”, concludes Marketa Piknova, coordinator of the project.
