Germany: international volunteering opportunities from the Diocese of Münster

A year of voluntary service abroad for both men and women: the proposal comes from the Diocese of Münster and is intended to show people’s belonging to the universal Church through the projects available. The offer for 2017/2018 includes social projects in the Dominican Republic, Ghana, Mexico, Namibia, Ruanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. The Diocese supports the volunteers throughout their year abroad, both before departure by offering them educational and training courses, and during their service abroad, by providing them with material assistance and seminars. Groups of benefactors are organised to cover the costs and promote other social projects. This demands a high-quality volunteer service. For this reason, the Diocese of Münster submits the proposals to the International Association for Quality Assurance (QGIF). “Once again, we are pleased that we can convince both parents and candidates of the excellent quality of our service”, explains Joana Reppenhorst from the organisational unit of “Civil Service Volunteering Abroad”. Every other year, the QGIF evaluates the counselling, preparation and monitoring of our volunteers, our crisis management and the transparency of our funding. “We not only monitor our current status, but we also continue to improve our offer”, Reppenhorst explains. The application forms are available on the website www.bistum-muenster.de/auslandsdienste
