CHURCHES IN EUROPE: CCEE, LEGAL ADVISORS FROM 18 COUNTRIES MEETING IN BRATISLAVA (2)

This will be followed by the first session about "Conscientious objection: an introduction", by Marek Smid, rector of the University of Trnava (Slovakia). Tomorrow morning, the second session of the meeting of the legal advisors of the European Bishops Conferences will deal with conscientious objection in the medical sphere. In the afternoon, the participants will move for their third session to Vienna, where they will visit the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights and will meet the Permanent Mission of the Holy See to the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (Osce). The fourth session will take place on 6th March about the defence and limits of the right to freedom of expression. Then, the final session with a speech by mgr. Paul R. Gallagher, secretary for relations with the States of the State Secretariat of the Holy See, who will propose a reflection on the challenges to today’s Church in Pope Francis’ speeches to the European Parliament and the Council of Europe.
