"Where is your brother?"- this is the title of the traditional Religious Book Fair which opened yesterday in Belgrade. Hosted by the parish of Christ the King in the Serbian capital, the Fair will remain open to the public until March 29. The theme is inspired by Pope Francis’ Lenten Message – Mgr. Stanislav Hocevar, Archbishop of Belgrade, told SIR –, and we want to reflect together on the following questions: Why is there no full unity and some of our faithful go astray? Why is there no communion between us and our Orthodox brothers? Why is there still no reconciliation in the Balkans?". The Fair will not just display religious books and items, but also offer a rich spiritual and cultural programme. Another important focus will be on the family, with dedicated conferences and prayer meetings. "Unlike previous years when weddings were rare due to the low number of Catholics – Mgr. Hocevar explained –, this year we have seven engaged couples". The programme of the Book Fair will also include the initiative "24 Hours for the Lord" starting with Stations of the Cross on Friday at the Archbishopric’s Park followed by a penitential service on Saturday. The Church of Christ the King will remain open for people to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and pray before the Blessed Sacrament. ” “
