BOSNIA: THE LOGO OF THE POPE’S VISIT. DELEGATION OF THE HOLY SEE GOING TO SARAJEVO

"Peace be with you": this is the motto of the Pope’s visit to Sarajevo on June 6th, the logo of which was presented in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina yesterday. It shows a dove with the olive branch, the symbol of peace, and with the cross, part of which is a sketched triangle that symbolises the borders of Bosnia, the colours of light, of Bosnia’s flag and that of Croatians’ living in Bosnia, the white, the blue, the yellow and the red. In presenting the slogan and the logo to the press, the archbishop of Sarajevo, cardinal Vinko Puljic, said that "these have been inspired by Pope Francis himself when he announced that the goal of his visit is to encourage the peace process in Bosnia. In addition, ‘Peace be with you’ is the phrase said by Jesus to greet the disciples in His apparition after His Resurrection. In the time we are living now, there are no certainties about the future, and that’s why all the people who live in this country, especially us Catholics, need such encouragement". Finally, the cardinal thanked the authors of the logo, artists Miroslav Šetka and Dragan Ivankovic, who designed it for free. Further details of the visit will be disclosed after April 8th, while local sources suggest that a delegation of the Holy See will be arriving in Sarajevo today to put the finishing touches on the Pope’s visit.” “
