POPE FRANCIS: TO THE CONSECRATED, "PROMOTE THE CULTURE OF ENCOUNTER" (2)

"Unfortunately – the Pope denounced – a culture of exclusion and rejection has wormed its way through many environments. There is no place for the elderly or for the unwanted child. There is no time to stop by that poor person standing on the sidewalk. It seems that for some, human relations are regulated by two modern dogmas: efficiency and pragmatism." "Do have the courage to row against the tide", was the Pope’s exhortation to the bishops, to the priests, to the religious, to seminarians. "We shall not renounce this gift of God: the only human family of his offspring. Encounter and welcome by each and every one of us, along with solidarity and fraternity, are those things that make our civilization truly human."
