BENEDICT XVI: ANGELUS, ANNIVERSARY OF THE JOINT DECLARATION OF AUGSBURG (2)

"This anniversary – explained Benedict XVI – is therefore an occasion to remember the truth about the justification of man, witnessed together, to unite us in ecumenical celebrations and to further investigate this issue and others that are the subject of ecumenical dialogue". Hence the Pope expressed the hope that this important anniversary will "help us move forward on the path towards the full visible unity of all Christ’s disciples". Then the Pope addressed a special greeting to the Italian-speaking pilgrims, especially to those who took part in the "All Saints’ Race", an initiative combining sports with humanitarian commitment. "My thoughts are turned to the faithful who gathered in Paderno Dugnano, near Milan, for the end of the pilgrimage of Our Lady of Fatima statue, on the 50th anniversary of Italy’s consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary".
