CCEE: THE WEBSITE OF THE EUROPEAN CATHOLIC ECOLOGY FORUM NOW ONLINE

The website of the European Catholic Ecology Forum (www.cefe.ch), sponsored by the Council of European Bishops Conferences, Ccee, and developed by experts about Creation of the Slovakian Bishops Conference with the support of Renovabis, is now online. The website, which is in English (texts in French, German and Italian), was presented to the Environment Commission of Ccee in St. Gallen (Switzerland) on 18-19 May. The website, which is under construction, is the fruit of 6 consultations on the environment conducted by Ccee from 1999 to 2004 and "should become a place of information and exchange of experiences, projects and pastoral practices going on in Europe, collecting documents and activities of the Holy See, of the Bishops Conferences and European organisations working in the protection of Creation about such subjects as the theology of Creation, spirituality and the environment, the environment and bioethics, climate change, the protection of biodiversity, water, waste". At the meeting, the participants decided to pay a fee for the reforestation of 7 hectares of forests in Romania to make up for the CO2 emissions released by the flights used by the delegates of the Third European Ecumenical Assembly (September 2007) of Sibiu. Ccee will attend the 7th Assembly of the European Christian Network for the Environment (Ecen), due to take place in Milan (24-28 September), about "The true challenge of climate change".” “
