BENEDICT XVI: "THE CHURCH’S SOLICITUDE FOR THE MIGRANT AND ITINERANT FAMILY" (2)” “

” ” "In its action of dialogue and welcome with migrants and itinerants – recalled Benedict XVI -, the constant point of reference for the Christian community is the person of Christ, our Lord. He left his disciples a golden rule for structuring their lives: the new commandment of love". On recalling "the close link between" the Eucharist and the sacrament of marriage, the Pope pointed out: "The family pastoral will conveniently take this sacrament datum as its point of reference of fundamental importance. Those who go to Mass – and its celebration must be easier for migrants and itinerants, too – find a great reference to their families and their marriage in the Eucharist, and are encouraged to live their lives in a perspective of faith". The Holy Father also raised another question: "Everybody knows that human mobility, in the currently globalized world, represents an important aspect of the new evangelization". Therefore, here is the reason for encouraging the Papal Council of the pastoral for migrants and itinerants "to go on with their pastoral commitment with more and more energy".
