ABDUCTED NUNS: FAMILIES AND RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY, "APPEAL TO KIDNAPPERS"

An "appeal" in the "name of God the Merciful". It was made by the religious Community and their families to the kidnappers of Rinuccia Giraudo and Maria Teresa Olivero, the two nuns of the Missionary Contemplative Movement "P. de Foucauld" who were abducted in Elwak, Kenya, on November 9th. "To you, who hold our sisters Rinuccia Giraudo and Maria Teresa Olivero, we make this appeal from the depth of our sorrow. We are the families of sister Rinuccia and sister Maria Teresa and we are the Community they belong to, as persons consecrated to God for the good of the poor", reads the plea, published on the website of the Movement (www.centromissionario.org). "We beg you, humbly and confidently – write the families and the Community –, set these two sisters free so they can take care of the sick, look after your suffering children and the elderly who need medication".
