A meeting of prayer will be celebrated in Mumbai on Christmas Day, to commemorate the victims of terrorism and insist on the citizens’ commitment to peace and civil cohabitation. The meeting will be organised by the "Bombay Catholic Sabha", an organisation that gathers the Catholic lay people of the city and that will be fully supported by other associations, movements and NGOs of all kinds. The event of December 25th means to express, by praying and giving such proof of harmony, the longing for peace and reconciliation. "One month after the breakout of violence, the commemoration of December 25th will pay tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks of November 26th. The goal of the meeting is to commemorate all the citizens who have lost their lives, those who have been the victims of attacks, those who have seen their homes destroyed, not just in Mumbai, but in all the regions of the nation where violence has broken out in the last few months. We ask the citizens to attend the meeting and express their solidarity, not least through effective gestures, such as by donating to those who have no home or have lost their assets or means of subsistence". This is written in the manifesto of the event, which therefore will also be an opportunity to promote gestures of support for the victims of violence in Orissa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and other states of India.
