Don Orione family is going to organise an ecumenical meeting in 2009, said general advisors don Achille Morabito and sister Maria Priscila Oliveira in a letter. The meeting will be held from 20 to 25 May 2009 in Lviv (Ukraine) on the theme "Charity as a form of dialogue", with the subtitle "Unus Dominus, una fides, unum baptisma." It is a sign of the "ecumenical sensitivity" which animated Saint Luigi Orione, the founder of the Little Work of the Divine Providence. "In the charismatic perspective of charity which unites to the Church to establish all things in Christ, after seeking Pope Leo XIII’s advice, Don Orione took the ecumenical commitment to "devote his life to achieve the union of the separated Churches," as it is already outlined in the first handwritten Constitutions of 1904. The ecumenical meeting will take place in Lviv, "where our small religious community is taking the first steps in an environment where the issue of the relationship between different Christian beliefs is particularly heartfelt," Don Orione family say. During the meeting, a small Church dedicated to Saint Luigi Orione and a community centre for assistance and educational activities will be inaugurated.
