EUROPE: A MUSIC SHOW ON SAINT BENEDICT AT THE EU PARLIAMENT IN STRASBOURG

” “"To make the representatives of the European citizens learn about the figure and the lesson of a saint who has left a profound mark on the culture and spirituality of the whole continent". This is the purpose, as well as to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the EEC treaties, of "Ora et Labora", a concert by the Italian singer/songwriter Michele Paulicelli, all focussed on Saint Benedict, that will be staged in Strasbourg today, at the EU Parliament. The event will be attended by the primate abbey of the Benedictine Order, father Nokter Wolf, "who – explains a press release from Credito cooperativo, the sponsor of the event – will play the German flute in accompaniment to Paulicelli, in the performance of three songs" from the musical "Ora et Labora. Storie e miracoli di San Benedetto". Paulicelli is in Strasbourg with a band of musicians: he is also the author of the musicals "Forza Venite Gente", about the life of Saint Francis, and "Madre Teresa", and approached the figure of the patron saint of Europe "through some poorly-known documental sources provided by Fondazione Dominato Leonense and by creating a musical, the songs of which are contained in a CD and are really impressive in terms of music and lyrics".” ” ” “
