“The role of the international mobility of university students”, as factor of European integration: that’s the theme of a conference to be held at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome from 8 to 11 December, under the auspices of the Council of the Episcopal Conferences of Europe ( CCEE) and the Vicariate of Rome. “The ecclesiastical institutions promoting the meeting explains Msgr. Lorenzo Leuzzi, head of the office of university ministry of the diocese of Rome are convinced that the phenomenon of university student mobility can represent a great resource, indeed, help generate the construction of a common European consciousness. Through the university chaplaincies that are now structurally present in the great majority of the universities of 41 countries in Europe, they want to place themselves at the service of these young people who will be the real constructors of Europe”. The conference will be attended, among others, by 30 representatives of the European counties, the delegates of 34 episcopal conferences, including six bishops, and some twenty university rectors. The European meeting of the national delegates of university ministry will also be held in conjunction with the conference. In Europe, some 300,000 students are “placed in mobility”.
