INTER-RELIGIOSOUS DIALOGUE: MESSAGE OF THE PONT. COUNCIL FOR THE END OF RAMADAN

[<< INDIETRO] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

“In the troubled world in which we live, teaching peace to the young becomes ever more important”. The invitation to “teach to young Christians and Muslims about justice and peace” is contained in the Message for the End of Ramadan, written by the Pontifical Council for Inter-Religious Dialogue and published today. “To be properly committed to it, one must understand the true nature of peace, that is not just about the absence of war nor about the balancing of opposing forces – reads the message, signed by cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, president of the Pontifical Council, and by its Secretary, archbishop Pier Luigi Celata -, but it also God’s gift and man’s work, to be incessantly built. It is the fruit of justice and an effect of charity. It is important for believers to be always working within their communities: by practising compassion, solidarity, cooperation and fraternity, they can effectively help take up the big challenges of this time: harmonious growth, integral development, conflict prevention and conflict solution”.
