TOURISM: EU COMMISSION, TIPS FOR SUMMER TRAVELLERS
(Sir Europe – Brussels) – Something more than a set of rules for a “careless summer”. In the run-up to the summer holidays, the EU Commission publishes a handbook, with lots of information for tourists and travellers going abroad, who are several millions every summer. These “recommendations” and tips range from health insurance to the settlement of litigations with tour operators, from car rentals to travelling by sea, from flight refunds to travelling with pets. “These tips will provide you with useful information and will show you what Europe does to help and assist travellers” moving around the 27 EU member states. The first tips concern, of course, personal health and the use of medical and health facilities. The EU Commission advises people to carry the European Health Insurance Card with them. “The Card will help you save time, formalities and money if you fall ill or have an accident abroad. The Card is available for free from your country’s health insurance institute”. For more information, visit: http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/index_it.htm[>>].
