(Sir Europe - Bratislava) - The Ministry of Culture in Ukraine established an Expert Council on Matters of Freedom of Worship and Activity of Religious Organizations (ECMFWARO), with the status of a consultative and advisory body. According to an official report, it will aim to “ensure meaningful monitoring, analysis and evaluation of processes in the religious environment in Ukraine and abroad; conduct professional consultations and study problems connected with the realization of the state policy in the area of religion; and to study problems related to ensuring freedom of worship and confession and the activity of religious organizations in Ukraine”. The Council, composed of representatives of the ministry of culture, other bodies of the executive power, public organizations and leading religious experts, will be headed by the first deputy minister of culture, Yurii Bohutskyi.
