“The people do not understand what is happening. Following what newspapers, radio and TV say, or by reading news on lots of websites, it is impossible to really understand the situation in depth. However, one thing is for sure: the people are fed up and poverty is growing day after day”. The news about the approval of the second EU aid plan (130 billion euros) from 20 to 21 February is not enough. That money is added to the almost 110 already allocated before to let President of Greek bishops Msgr. Francesco Papamanolis smile again. He talked to SIR about the developments of the crisis in his country. “Every day – he says – I meet people, family men, and workers coming to me and asking for help. And we cannot help them; we regret about that very much. This is our reality. The Catholic Church is in also in difficulty”.
